Global project (masterplan)

The development of the overall project includes the technology campus, a residential area, local shops, intergenerational and social spaces.

It is based on a masterplan – equivalent to a neighbourhood plan in terms of land use planning – created by the managers of the Marly Innovation Center in collaboration with Mr. Bernard Vichet of the Destal Ingenieria office.

This document provides consistency in the overall development of the site in order to achieve a real symbiosis between workplace and living space.

The overall project includes 11 areas, most of which are currently under construction.

Zone A – Crafts and trade

Modular premises for sale (or rent) for SMEs and craftsmen. Companies arrange their surfaces according to their needs (workshops, offices, exhibition windows, etc.).

Zone B – Industry and depots

Surfaces still unoccupied allowing the implementation of large industrial projects. Value-creating and environmentally friendly activities will be given priority.

Zone C – Services and tertiary

Located along the Gérine river, these activities will enjoy large offices with a pleasant atmosphere in a green setting.

Zone D – Research Laboratories and Offices

Faithful to the tradition inherited from Ciba and Ilford, the MIC welcomes researchers and chemists in 7,000 m2 of laboratories, thus contributing to the long-term success of the site.

Zone E – Reception, maintenance and parking

The interior of the site is a place of conviviality. Private vehicles remain at the entrance to the MIC. The lodge offers a reception service and our maintenance team is at your disposal to solve any technical problems.

Zone F – High-tech zone, communication towers

The futuristic look of this area should illustrate the desire of the MIC and the Fribourg economy to look to the future.

Zone G – Logistics centre, e-commerce, automatic palletising

Extensive storage facilities allowing on-site logistics activities and synergies in the value chain.

Zone H – Health Sector

The idyllic location of the site’s entrance lends itself to health activities, where one seeks a calm environment, on the outskirts of town but easily accessible.

Zone I – Public services, workshops, recreational areas, museum(s), a site of memory

A link with the residential area (L), this is the added value of this area. Local shops, lively places dedicated to restaurants and shows, intergenerational spaces will ensure social and cultural links.

Zone J – Mechanical, sheet metal, locksmith, electrical workshops

Here too, we can take advantage of the existing high-quality facilities. They remain useful to all companies on the site and beyond.

Zone K – Ventilated and covered recreation centre

Along the Gérine river, everyone can reach this haven of relaxation in a verdant setting.

Zone L – Eco residential area
A pioneering scheme to offer a high quality of life to its residents, the residential area will be the first in the canton of Fribourg to be labelled “One Planet Living (OPL)”. The approach developed by WWF integrates the 10 dimensions of sustainability (discover the OPL initiative).

From December 2021, 362 housing units and a local shopping centre will be available. A TPF bus line will connect the district directly to the station.
